Jackie Woolley, Ph.D. started her career as a clinical psychologist in private practice specializing in cognitive therapy with adults, children, and adolescents with depression, anxiety, and stress related disorders. When her 3 children applied to college, she helped them with their applications and found she really enjoyed the process. In the spring of 2013, she completed the Specialized Certificate in College Counseling through UCSD and subsequently founded Summit College Counseling. In 2014, she attended the Independent Educational Consultants Association’s Summer Training Institute at Claremont McKenna College.
As an independent educational consultant, Jackie works with students and their families on course and activity planning, college search, testing advice, application completion, activities resumes, personal statements and essays, applying to selective colleges, and early action/early decision options. Her goal is to make the process less stressful and more fun so students can focus on self-reflection, exploration, and discovery to find the colleges that fit them best.
Jackie is an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and a member of the Western Association For College Admission Counseling (WACAC). She currently co-leads the IECA San Diego Regional Group.
